We are pleased to announce the opening of our latest scheme in Plymouth. We have worked in partnership with Plymouth City Council and Parallel Independence to provide the impressive new accommodation for young people living in a supported living setting near Plymouth City Centre, close to a regeneration area.
Our exciting new development to the northwest of Plymouth City proudly opened its doors to customers in September after nearly a year of renovation works. We officially opened the scheme on Monday 11 September with an celebratory Open Day event which was attended by prospective customers, family members, local healthcare professionals and councillors.
The new scheme which sits on a large corner plot has been given a new roof enabling us to add an additional floor to create 12 self-contained apartments over 3 floors. Each flat has an open plan kitchen/dining and living space, along with a separate bedroom and modern bathroom.
Emma Crowther, Interim Head of Commissioning at Plymouth City Council said:
“Pivotal have worked really closely with us to transform a dilapidated social club into a gleaming, aspirational block of 12 flats for our young people in care and the care experienced. It will give them the opportunity to have their own front door, in a space that is cosy, sturdy and manageable, to be able to learn and practice the skills that should take them on into independent adult lives.
From the outset Pivotal understood what we needed and the specific vulnerabilities as well as opportunities for our young people and have shared in our ambition and aspiration throughout”.
