Judges wowed at Pivotal’s first customer cookery competition

The judging of Pivotal’s very first customer cookery competition has taken place and the judges have been wowed!

Prizes were on offer for the best chef in the individual category, with more prizes awarded to multiple chefs who cooked up a storm with other customers in the group category.

Sabrina, Chris and Anthony at one of our supported living schemes in Bournemouth laid on a Jamaican-themed feast of salted fish fritters followed by Caribbean chicken curry, all beautifully presented. Co-judge Clare Sutton, Community Engagement Manager, said, “As soon as we arrived we knew it would be special: there were flowers on a perfectly laid table and fresh coconut juice served in the shell. The hospitality was wonderful and the food absolutely incredible. It actually felt like we were on holiday in Jamaica!

At another another of our supported living schemes in Bournemouth, Jack treated the judges (and his fellow residents) to chicken tikka masala and the comfort food classic of apple and blackberry crumble. Chief Operating Officer Nathan Stolborg said, “Many thanks to Head Chef Jack for a really lovely lunch and making us so very welcome – including a tour of the garden, where he has great plans for this year.”

In the Individual category, winner Daniel from St Austell served up salmon steak with spicy mayo, peri-peri salt and caramelized onion with pasta and red pesto, topped with cheddar and mozzarella, whilst runner up David from Poole in Dorset presented chicken with cheese sauce, potatoes and fresh veg. Worthy winners all!
